A&P Lead Technician Job Details

Jet Test Tech’s Aircraft Lead must be an appropriately certificated and stamp-holding A&P or Repairman under FAR Part 65. The Aircraft Lead is responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor for all maintenance functions within the skill group he/she is assigned to lead.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements
  • Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations in accordance with FAR Part 145 and manufacturer specifications. Ensure all safety protocols and quality standards are met during aircraft servicing. Coordinate with team members and supervisors for efficient project completion. Maintain detailed records of all work performed on aircraft.
  • Ability to pass the FAA/DOT required drug and alcohol program, to include random testing as required by regulations.
  • Provide expertise and guidance within the skill set of his/her maintenance team
  • Delegate work within his/her skill set after receiving work cards and directives from the Line Supervisor or Program Manager.
  • Maintain the ability to work on his/her work card while assisting and monitoring his/her subordinates. Ensuring proper tagging, identification, and location of parts.
  • Ensure that serviceable tags are installed on the component properly with the work package.
  • Ensure that properly certificated personnel are signing, stamping, and completing work. Ensure that staff is following internal and external policies and procedures. Advising Maintenance Supervisors of deficiencies.
  • Performing On-The-Job-Training (OJT) as needed. Completing all records of OJT completion.
  • Coordinating with the Program Manager on all aspects of work progress under his/her leadership, specifically in deficiencies such as parts or equipment requirements.
  • Maintaining quality work to the standards set by Jet Test Tech.
  • Monitor the work area for cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Any additional duties assigned by the Line Supervisor.
  • Ensures all personnel unfamiliar with maintenance techniques and non-certificated persons are directly supervised.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years as a Technician.
  • Minimum 2 years as a lead.
  • Systems or Interior experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of Boeing 767, 747, 737, and/or Airbus 340, 330.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Spanish is a plus.
