Composite Technician Job Details

Jet Test Tech’s Composite Technician must be certified per work package requirements to sign for per customers processes an all applicable FARs/DFRs and applicable CFR Part 14 requirements. Composite Technicians are responsibile to Aircraft Leads ad Maintenance Supervisors..

Key Responsibilities & Requirements
  • Ability to pass the FAA/DOT required drug and alcohol program to include random testing as required by regulations.
  • Research technical data and perform fabrication of plastic aircraft parts, accessories, and trim in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals, FAA regulations, and Level 5 Aerospace policies and procedures.
  • Cut fiberglass, Kevlar, or graphite cloth to size, following templates or blueprints, using a cutting machine, scissors, or knife.
  • Mark identifying information on material and assemble materials in kits for subsequent laminating.
  • Encase molded laminate in bagging material and bleeder cloth, attach vacuum bagging apparatus (such as thermocouples, probes, and vacuum connections) to mold or bonding fixture, and exhaust air from vacuum bag to seal laminate for curing; test seal using leak detector.
  • Trim, drill, deburr, grind, sand, and finish cured parts to specifications using templates, fixtures, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Pre-fit and assemble cured parts into assemblies or subassemblies using jigs, fixtures, power tools, and fasteners such as rivets and bolts.
  • Perform cold/hot metal bonding.
Experience
  • 3- 5 years of experience preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of Boeing 767, 747, 737, and/or Airbus 340, 330.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Spanish is a plus.
