Structures Technician Job Details

Jet Test Tech’s Structures Technicians must be an appropriately certificated and stamp-holding Airframe mechanic under FAR Part 65. The Structures Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisors.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements
  • • Proficient in sheet metal fabrication, repair, and installation.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and structural repair manuals.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft materials and structural components.
  • Experienced in layout, measurement, and precision marking techniques.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
  • Research technical data and perform inspection, repair, and replacement of aircraft sheet metal structures, including main landing gear fittings, aircraft skins, and floor beams in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals, FAA regulations, and Ascent Aviation policies and procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine the sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
  • Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal parts, equipment, and products utilizing knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques.
  • Select gauge and type of sheet metal, such as stainless steel, steel, or aluminum, or nonmetallic material, such as plastics or fiberglass, according to product specifications.
  • Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, using scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers, applying knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop and trace patterns of products or parts.
  • Perform maintenance work, including the repair and upkeep of company equipment, as well as shop housecleaning.
  • Make appropriate entries in Component Removal Log, complete identification tags, and repairable/parts routing tags upon removing components from aircraft.
Experience
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English, including following verbal and written instructions.
  • 10 - 15 years in Aircraft Structure repair preferred.
  • A License preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of Boeing 767, 747, 737, and/or Airbus 340, 330.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Spanish is a plus.
